Performs electrical tasks, provides work direction, trains electrical staff and directs electrical staff to meet quality and service requirements and to support and promote Honeywell Operating System (HOS) philosophy while maintaining Honeywell Golden Valley electrical requirements as needed.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

Exposed to dust, heat, noise, etc. making job somewhat disagreeable.


Work Direction


  • Assign work duties as needed or directed by supervision to ensure all jobs have adequate coverage and work schedules are met.

  • Assign preventative maintenance (PM's), prioritize service calls and work order and coordinate tasks between trades.

  • Ensure parts and materials are ordered and ready for future projects.

  • Maintain minimum-maximum level of equipment and supplies as prescribed.

  • Monitor employee performance to ensure projects are being conducted per specifications.

  • Motivate and reinforce good employee work habits and where appropriate, correct poor work habits.

  • Attend weekly priority meetings, weekly safety meeting and daily meetings.

  • Coordinate work direction between union trade groups as needed.

  • Communicate with internal customer as needed.



Equipment Repair


  • Make necessary repairs or adjustments on machines and equipment within the scope of the job.

  • Schedule preventive maintenance tasks and maintain appropriate documentation.

  • Troubleshoot equipment and system malfunctions.

  • Replace lighting lamp systems including ballast as needed which requires climbing ladders and lift stations.

  • Install and replace electrical devices.

  • Install and replace electrical motors from fractional horse power (1/4" to ½") to ten horse power motors.



Engineering Interface


  • Work with facility engineering to resolve problems related to parts, supplies, equipment and/or projects as required.

  • Assist facility engineering in the design process of new systems and/or construction as required.



Safety


  • Explain, demonstrate and teach employees the appropriate department safety regulations and policies and enforce employee compliance.

  • Oversee general housekeeping (5S) of assigned work area.

  • Check safety features of equipment.

  • Ensure the proper labeling, record keeping of hazardous materials.

  • Ensure compliance to laws and regulations regarding construction, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment including Lock Out -Tag Out (LOTO).

  • Participate in weekly safety training.



Training


  • Teach employees the proper methods and use of equipment to perform their job duties.

  • Train employees how to read and understand schematics and blueprints.

  • Emphasize quality of work to employees during training process and monitor work and employees' attitude toward quality carefully during training period.

  • Proper use of computer including writing stand operating system (SOS) procedures, email communication and locating parts.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Associate Degree In Electronics

  • 5 yrs Manufacturing

  • 3 year Experience with CNC Machines

  • 3 year Programmable Logic Controllers

  • 2 year experience with Word, Excel, Outlook



Preferred Qualifications:


  • Must be able to lead and work with co-workers.

  • Works with advanced mathematics and all types of circuit drawings and testing equipment.

  • Must understand blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematic drawings.

  • Must have a Minnesota Journeyman's License.

  • Must have successfully completed the following courses.
