We are seeking a Modeling Engineer for our Houston, TX facility.

Position Responsibilities:

• Work on new model and software development for oil/gas and refining applications as well as thermodynamic and phase behavior models for aqueous and non-aqueous systems.


• Provide maintenance and technical support activities for existing corrosion prediction and material selection applications related to oil/gas production and refining markets.


• Responsible for new software development and for enhancing existing software systems related to corrosion prediction and material selection in upstream and downstream oil and gas applications.


• Responsible for developing and working with heuristic models for corrosion software systems and perform corrosion data analysis and integration.


• Provide consulting and implementation support for corrosion modeling activities.


• Perform ionic modeling for corroding oil/gas systems.


• Develop modeling applications with Visual Basic (6.0 and/or .Net).


• Performing ionic modeling for corroding oil/gas systems


• Applying knowledge of multiphase flowing systems and relevant engineering characterization for corrosion modeling;


• Applying process simulation systems (Unisim Design) and Phase Behavior / Ionic modeling systems (OLI Corrosion Analyzer) to simulate corrosion environments;


• Applying fundamentals of corrosion processes to oil / gas production, transmission and refining.

Basic Qualifications:

• B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering.


• 1 year of experience with corrosion or flow model development or refinery process modeling.

Additional Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree preferred.


• Corrosion experience preferred.


• Oil & Gas experience preferred.


• Programming experience with .Net platform (with VB.net or C#.net)


• Proficiency with Visual Basic and / or Microsoft Excel based macros (VBA)
