Job Description: 
An excellent career opportunity is currently available for a Regional Services Customer Manager within the Services-Americas group of UOP's Engineering, Service and Equipment organization. The position can be located in Houston, TX, Des Plaines, IL or a North American home based location. This position will play a key and integral role in managing service and technical support of UOP's refining industry customers.

Position responsibilities:


  • Manage and maintain UOP relationships with customers through frequent direct contact and service delivery that help increase their profit.

  • Work closely with other functions in UOP to deliver UOP's full portfolio of products and services.

  • Assist customers in achieving maximum benefit from develop and deliver service plans to support the customer.

  • Act as a primary gateway into UOP and provide the background and context needed to allow UOP to deliver the right solutions.
    Provide technical mentoring for others to help them achieve their potential.

  • Maintain broad-based technical and economics knowledge of the Refining and Petrochemical business.

  • Direct accountability for management of service agreements assigned. Responsibility includes administration of the agreement itself, as well as the delivery of the obligations dictated in the service agreement and the service plan.

  • The delivery of service obligations will frequently require the coordination of inputs from others.

  • Direct responsibility for generation and maintenance of customer service plans. These plans must align with expectations of other business units and shall be mutually agreed with each service agreement customer.


Basic Candidate Requirements:


  • High school diploma or GED is required.

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in the refining and petrochemicals industries is required.

  • Minimum of 3 years of UOP Technical Service, UOP Engineering or equivalent industry (non-UOP) process operations, technical service or design experience is also required.

Additional Candidate Requirements:


  • BS Chemical Engineering Degree is preferred.

  • Significant oil and/or petrochemical refining operations background is necessary in lieu of an Engineering Degree.

  • Significant prior experience in at least two UOP Process technologies is highly preferred.

  • Assigned customer base will recognize value of this work experience immediately.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Solid comprehensive problem solving skills.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% annually to both domestic and international sites.
