Honeywell Aerospace is a $11B SBG (Strategic Business Group) with 40,000 employees in over 125 domestic and international locations. We are a leading global aviation supplier designing, manufacturing, and distributing advanced electronic systems, products, and services to commercial, defense and space industries. This position is responsible for the development and certification of Navigation and Communication (NAV/COM) Bendix King products for General Aviation aircraft. The key responsibilities of the position are as follows: -Provide overall technical and project leadership for Systems, Software, and Hardware Engineers performing new product development on NAV/COM products for General Aviation. -Provide ongoing Engineering support for existing (legacy) products. -Ensure execution to project certification, including any function-specific quality and certification requirements. -Provide expertise for associated technologies, and be recognized as a project and industry leader. -Manage and mentor engineers to improve the overall knowledge base and improve project execution. Basic Qualifications: -Bachelors Degree in Engineering -10 years of relevant related design and integration experience in the development and certification of NAV/COM products -U.S. citizen or United States Lawful Permanent Resident Alien is required to support government projects and programs Additional Qualifications: -Ability to drive consistent and efficient Engineering processes is preferred. -Ability to communicate effectively to direct reports, as well as with project and executive leadership, both on a project as well as a detailed technical level -Strong interpersonal, communication, teaming, customer interaction, and team leadership abilities. -Applicant should be able to lead cross-functional engineers (systems, software, and hardware) to ensure project success. -Capability in a specific technical area that can be applied across any project (systems safety analysis, qual testing, MOPS testing) is strongly preferred -A private pilot's license is highly desirable -A strong project management background with demonstrated experience in leading product development programs. -Demonstrated ability to generate requirements and certification plans, as to the specific product/domain area. -Broad knowledge of avionics systems and interfaces, including GA systems or domain expertise. -Demonstrated working knowledge of applying certification requirements to a product / airplane certification program. -Direct application of avionics systems, software, and hardware development processes and standards, including ARP4754, DO-160D, and DO-178B. -Ability to both manage a team and perform complex technical tasks when needed.
