Systems Engineer III - Alerton

Position responsibilities include:
- Analyze complex systems including Building HVAC, Lighting, Energy, and Security systems.
- Design UI, workflows, and design language providing a consistent and efficient behavior across a product line.
- Analyze, design and develop applications for systems spanning all aspects of building systems from embedded devices to enterprise applications with open standards protocols and web services.
- Perform portfolio analysis, keeping products current with changing technologies and requirements.
- Analyze and adapt development processes and methodologies to meet the objectives of given projects.
- Work closely with product management and engineering management to identify new product ideas, create requirements, and the coordination of project activities from end to end.
- Make presentations to management, customers, or professional peers.
- Analyze system specifications and translate requirements for a multi-disciplinary project team.
- Participate in development of long range planning for new projects.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in technical field or 5 years experience in Systems Engineering.
- 5 years experience in a professional leadership or technical position.
Additional Qualifications
- Ability to problem solve quickly and completely.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to recognize the large picture and the impact of design choices on other parts of the system and on other stakeholders
Desired Skills and Experience
- User Interface and Workflow design and development (Web applications preferred)
- Object oriented design and development.
- HVAC control system, lighting systems, or related building systems installation, commissioning, troubleshooting or operations
- Experience in areas of building control systems, construction and management including any of the following:
- Security, Fire, Access Control or Lighting systems
- Operations and Management of a Building Management System
- Commercial Construction Industry
- Technical degree such as Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
- Experience with Software development and Network technology in any of the following areas
- Networking protocols including BACnet, TCP/IP, Web Services, Wireless technologies, such as 802.15.4, ZigBee, 6LoWPAN, WiFi and Mesh technologies
- Distributed computing environment concepts including client/server architectures
- Java or C# programming languages
- Project management experience - PMI certification a plus.
