Sr. Design Engineer will be responsible for system integration design, software implementation, architecture development and maintaining Department of Navy (DON) applications to meet the DoD, Navy and Marine Corps requirements. The candidate will have the responsibility to develop system requirements based on IT policy and guidance. And work closely with Program Manager to interface with major stakeholders from Department of Navy and DoD to understand the system specifications to produce system design documents and Concept of Operations (CONOPS) documents. The candidate will need to understand a range of applications and how to transfer the DoD customers needs into real and robust applications. Applications developed include enterprise applications, IT portfolio management and enterprise information applications/systems in the DOD environment. The customer requirements must be gathered and understood, the engineer will be responsible for assisting in testing by writing test cases to assist in the transfer of the requirements into a robust application. The candidate must have knowledge of web development environment as well as a working knowledge of related technologies such as: Coldfusion, .Net, Java, HTML and JavaScript. Candidate will demonstrate the ability to lead a project across all aspects of the systems development lifecycle. This individual must be highly motivated in this area of computing in order to stay current with present trends and activities. The successful candidate must also have a strong work ethic, be a team player, and demonstrate excellent oral and written communications skills. The individual must interface with government and contractor personnel, and possess strong analytic and technical skills. Requirements 8 years experience in web application development using Cold Fusion, Java, .Net, HTML, or compatible language 8 years experience in SQL (Oracle SQL Statements, and Stored Procedures). 5 years experience in programmer in Oracle RDBMS environment. 5 years of working knowledge within a Windows environment. Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline and a minimum of 8 to 10 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Secret Clearance Required Preferred Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science. 8-10 years experience in DoD Enterprise Application support experience. 6-8 years of experience in software architecture, designing, developing, testing, implementing web applications 6-8 years experience designing, developing, and testing |
