Mobile Application UI-UX Design Consultant AT&T is at the forefront of the most inspiring mobile applications that change the way that consumers, employees, and business partners use mobile technology. We’re looking for people who understand the nuances of mobile technology and why it’s so much more than a simplified web page that fits on your smartphone. You live and breathe design, know when to use a pinch gesture and understand the importance of a 44x44 pixel touch area. You can recognize fonts quickly, like typography, can spot half-pixels, good with colors, and you can overcome even the most complex UI/UX issues through intelligent design! You’ll collaborate closely with our mobile developers to create the best apps possible. The ideal candidate will bring significant experience developing mobile user experiences that meet best practices and push the bounds of innovation. A working knowledge of platforms and technologies will prove your ability to know the rules and how to break them to completely redefine the conventional user experience and create applications that breathe. Critical and subjective thinking, initiative to improve both product and process, along with an ability to work within, and lead a team is essential. Your Role: 1. Work directly with developers, solution architects, business analysts, customers, end-users, and other stakeholders to develop strategies and specifications to create/improve the performance, usability and effectiveness of mobile software applications. 2. Develop and maintain user interface architectures, design patterns, graphics, and style guides for user interfaces. Ensure availability and application of architectures, design patterns, and style guides with the development organization. 3. Design and develop visual elements, user experience workflows, and user interfaces, including mockups, conceptual diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, graphic assets, and icons . 4. Work independently or with other UI-UX specialists and project teams to identify and define interaction and usability requirements for the user experience. 5. Work with clients to ensure that the user interface meets the desired requirements during all phases of the project. 6. Partner with mobile development team, business analysts, architects and other stakeholders to deliver solutions to the business with high quality and elegant design. Your Background: - Experience producing some of the most pixel-perfect, trend-setting, awe-inspiring, clean and functional designs and experiences - Experience in scaling user experience designs from different screen sizes (320x480, 640x960, 1024x768) and orientations (portrait to landscape) - Firsthand knowledge and experience with the research, design and documentation of emotional, dynamic user interfaces. - You’ve built wireframes and architected the flow of apps, with an eye for both aesthetics, high-fidelity prototypes, and the end-user experience - Your work across functions has solved design challenges; you seek input from clients, architects, developers, and other UX / UI colleagues when presented with interesting challenges. - Documentation and output required to support the development process, including but not limited to mockups and production-ready Photoshop files - Work in tandem with UI Developers to ensure finished work meets acceptance criteria and matches the vision set forth in your design - Must be a visionary and advocate for design decisions that will make a difference - A passion for innovation while remaining attentive to the smallest details like pixel perfection - Must be able to provide samples of design work – concept presentations, requirements docs, prototypes, etc - You have a good sense of typography, grids, and clean interfaces, and will help us instill a design culture with our clients and development team - Excellent communication and presentation skills with an ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing Job Requirements: - 3-5 years experience creating visual designs, user experiences, and user interfaces for mobile applications and services for Android, iOS, BlackBerry, Windows Phone and other smartphone devices. - Critical and subjective thinking, initiative to improve both product and process, and an ability to work within, and lead a team - Familiarity with IDE and SDK tools layout, design and usability (e.g., Eclipse, Xcode, iOS SDK, Android SDK) - Working knowledge of development languages and technologies (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Objective-C, Ruby, Python, Webkit, Canvas) as well as frameworks (jQuery, Sencha, JQTouch) - Familiarity with back-end technologies (PHP, .NET, MySQL, SQL) and mobile technologies (Mobify, PhoneGap) - Expert-level experience with common UX principles and language including user-centered design, patterns, and design thinking - Strong understanding of Human Interface Guidelines and typical conventions for iOS and Android - Excellent concept visualization and data visualization design skills - Interaction Design skills (task flows, user object models, wireframes) - Degree or work history in human factors, cognitive psychology, graphic design, or computer science - Strong attention to detail - Advanced experience supporting user-centered design in a variety of corporate environments. - Demonstrated ability to translate complex user needs into simple, elegant designs that scale across platforms - Expert level skills with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and Justinmind wireframe tool (or similar tools) - Portfolio that demonstrates exceptional design skills |
