Job Description: 
Responsible for translating business needs into technical solutions, and defining solutions to problems through reasoned application of information technology for the PeopleSoft Center of Excellence within AT&T Hosting and Application Services. Designs, develops documents, analyzes, and implements PeopleSoft software and architecture. Researches and recommends technology to improve the current systems in a support capacity and also in upgrade projects.


Knowledge - Seasoned technical professional who contributes through proven technical expertise in PeopleSoft applications and PeopleTools. Experience in major application upgrades and minor patching projects for PeopleSoft. Experience with tools 8.50 and above is preferred and familiarity with Oracle database platform is required (10g or higher). Ability to perform PeopleSoft System Administration function including application configuration and optimization. Extensive experience in PIA architecture and PeopleSoft technologies including integration broker. Experience with PeopleSoft modules in Financials, CRM or Supply Chain is preferred. Competency in PeopleSoft development and ability to program using PeopleCode, SQR, Application Engines is also required.

Contribution to AT&T Technology - Key contributor on complex projects and initiatives. Impacts current and future business opportunities through application of specialized technical and industry knowledge. Develops methods and techniques based on strategic project objectives.



The preferred location for this position is Columbus, OH. If no qualified candidate is located in the preferred location may consider applicants who reside (and will remain) in locations other than listed.

Required Qualifications -


  • 3-5 years related technical architect experience

  • Strong knowledge of PeopleSoft Systems and Architecture

  • Experience with PeopleSoft Applications and PeopleTools

  • Experience in PeopleSoft major application upgrade process and minor patching projects

  • Experience with tools 8.50 and above is preferred and familiarity with Oracle database platform is required (10g or higher).

  • Ability to perform PeopleSoft System Administration function including application configuration and optimization

  • Extensive experience in PIA architecture and PeopleSoft technologies including integration broker

  • Experience with PeopleSoft modules in Financials, CRM or Supply Chain is preferred

  • Knowledge in home and premise networking architectures & technologies

  • Proficient in system performance measurements, troubleshooting, support, monitoring and optimization.

  • Knowledge in network and system architecture (Subsystems, interfaces, hw/sw dependencies).

  • Proficient in Network Management, Tools and Protocols (Configuration, IP Network Address Management, Performance Management).


Desired Qualifications -


  • BS degree in Engineering, Information Systems or related technical field

  • Enterprise wide deployment planning and support for mission critical applications for major releases, both business and infrastructure related

  • Develop technical documentation on applications and systems

  • Ability to work with technical and business-oriented teams

  • Understands access & transport technologies (FTTx, xDSL, optical, aggregation, RAS, OTN, DWDM, etc.)

  • Proficient in data communications protocols (TCP/IP, v4/v6, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, GMPLS, etc.)

  • Well-versed in security (encryption, certificates, firewalls, VPNs, etc.)
