At AT&T, our Chief Technology Office (CTO) is the embodiment of innovation. We're responsible for developing, designing, planning and building AT&T's wireless and wired networks - including the nation's fastest 3G wireless network, our groundbreaking U-verse network and one of the world's largest and most advanced IP backbone. Senior Level engineer with excellent technical skills involved in complex system performance, RF design, RF transmission, RAN / switch equipment, and traffic engineering activities. Can work independently to design, test, measure, troubleshoot, and evaluate wireless systems to achieve optimal performance and design. Plans and implements complex changes/additions to the wireless system. Lead/develop projects with aggressive time lines. Provide guidance, training, and supervision to less experienced engineers. Develops documentation / evaluates new technologies and equipment for the network. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 5 years of wireless performance and design experience. Demonstrated knowledge of electromagnetic theory, antenna theory, radio propagation, and GSM/UMTS air interfaces. Demonstrated knowledge of wireless switch, network, and cell site hardware/software interfaces. Strong computer skills, including MS-DOS, Windows XP, MS office (Excel, Work, Access, PowerPoint), Visual Basic. Experience with Mapinfo, RF modeling prediction software (Atoll, Optimi), automated frequency planning tools. Experience with network/spectrum analyzer equipment and with drive test equipment / post processing equipment (TEMs, Actix). Proven ability to work independently and within a team in a cross-functional environment. Proven ability to produce measurable results within a complex multi-tasking, rapidly changing work environment. Proven ability to develop and evaluate multiple solutions to a wide range of interdependent problems. Strong, effective prioritization and organizational skills. Strong, effective interpersonal and written/oral communication skills. Preferred experience with Ericsson GSM RAN, Ericsson UMTS RAN, and Nortel switch technologies. Knowledge of the Western PA area including Pittsburgh, Johnstown, Wheeling, Steubenville, Morgantown, Erie, Butler, New Castle (morphology, topography, and demographics) would be preferred.
