Job Description: 


Job Duties:

As a PeopleSoft Application Engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for turning business needs into technical solutions, and defining solutions to problems through reasoned application of information technology for AT&T Hosting and Application Services. An Application Engineer designs, develops, documents, analyzes, implements PeopleSoft software and architecture. This resource will also research and recommend technology to improve the current systems.


Knowledge - Seasoned technical professional who contributes through proven technical expertise in PeopleSoft applications and PeopleTools. Experience in major application upgrades and minor patching projects. Ability to perform PeopleSoft System Administration function.


Analysis and Problem Solving -Solves unique problems through evaluative judgment and precedent. Independently applies sophisticated analysis in evaluating issues and develops new concepts, methods and techniques for cross-functional initiatives. Recognizes and pursues alternative methods.


Independence - Guided by department goals and objectives. Exercises latitude in determining objectives and approaches to projects. Leads multiple projects of small to medium size and technical breadth.


Contribution to AT&T Technology - Key contributor on complex projects and initiatives. Impacts current and future business opportunities through application of specialized technical and industry knowledge. Develops methods and techniques based on strategic project objectives.



Communication - Provides technical guidance and explains advanced concepts to others in work area and to clients. May mentor others in department. Coordinates across multiple departments. Promotes active listening and open communication. Provides leadership and guidance to others.



The target locations for this position are Atlanta, GA; Dallas, TX; or Saint Louis, MO. May consider applicants who reside (and will remain) in locations other than those listed.

Required Qualifications -



- PeopleTools, preferably with 8.51 experience

- Strong knowledge of Oracle database concepts

- Scripting knowledge preferred - UNIX shells - Korn shell, bash, perl.

- Good knowledge of UNIX - AIX, Solaris, HP-UX or Linux.

- Sql, XML, HTML, Java, Application Engine, PeopleCode development capabilities


- Experience in integration technologies and web services


- Some functional PeopleSoft capability (Subject matter expertise in a PeopleSoft module)




Desired Qualifications:

Bachelors degree or relevant experience in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or other related field
