We are seeking a Quality Engineer III for our facility located in Lincolnshire, IL. 1ST SHIFT POSITION - Hours of Operation are from 8AM - 5PM, M-F Job Description: The Manufacturing Quality Engineer is responsible for the day to day quality activities related to manufacturing and the production of products in their assigned area. Monitor and analyze current manufacturing policies and practices to ensure high quality product is produced. Work with manufacturing and engineering to reduce the Cost Of Poor Quality (COPQ). Communicate with a wide range of levels in the organization to understand and communicate issues and resolutions. Analyze and drive root cause solutions for customer complaints and warranty returns as directed by supervisor. Job Responsibilities: - Support the Quality Program by working with manufacturing and engineering to ensure high quality product is delivered to our customers in a timely and cost efficient manner - Deliver measurable improvements in COPQ in manufacturing by increasing yields and reducing scrap/rejection - Identifying the defects in manufacturing process, analyze the root cause of those defects and correct those them - Lead the effort to design and conduct quality experiments and studies, and prepare and report statistical analysis of results - Lead the effort to identify and implement test procedures to ensure quality standards are maintained - Analyze customer complaints and drive long term preventative actions with various teams with in the business - Represent quality in customer and sales team meetings. - Design the appropriate systems for quality control - Drive Continuous Improvement activities to enhance product quality using methods such as 5S, Kaizen, 8D, Rapid Problem Solving, etc. - Develop and deliver training to build quality awareness throughout manufacturing - Investigate quality problems, and assist in the generation of corrective actions and review actions for effective implementation - Interface with Engineering, Manufacturing, and In-Coming Quality to ensure quality objectives are met - Inspect the new manufactured products' qualities and ensure those qualities are met - Conduct internal audits as needed to ensure compliance to ISO9000 standards - Prepare and maintain quality documentation as required by company and ISO9000 standard - Integrate ISO9000 and Honeywell Operating System to ensure system alignment - Planning, organizing and managing the overall quality of the activities - Other activities as assigned by manager Basic Qualifications: - BS in Engineering, Chemistry or related discipline or 10 years professional experience. OR 10 years of experience plus six sigma certification in lieu of degree/experience - 5 years experience in an electronics manufacturing environment Additional Qualifications: - Six Sigma Certification or the ability to become certified - Ability to work with manufacturing and engineering - Ability to communicate with those outside of Honeywell in a clear and professional manner - Extensive verbal and written communication - Technical understanding of the manufacturing process - Good presentation skills - Good listening skills are necessary - The ability to work within the Honeywell Operating System - Strong analytical skill - Strong decision making skill - Excellent computer skills - Strong problem solving skill - Good organizational skill is necessary for this designation Interested in Honeywell but this isn't the right job for you?
