Filtration and Ignition Director of Engineering and Technology The FRAMGroup manufactures and markets consumer-branded automotive products for the aftermarket consumer, as well as for automotive original equipment manufacturers and installers, with household brand names including Prestone, Fram, and Autolite. Please note that the Consumer Products Group is no longer a division of Honeywell; as it was acquired by Rank Group in July 2011. This position will be located in Perrysburg, OH. Responsibilities: The Director of Engineering and Technology will be responsible for all aspects of Filtration and Ignition Engineering and Technology and staff located in Perrysburg and Fostoria, Ohio and Morristown, NJ. · Lead a team that designs and develops aftermarket and OE automotive filters and spark plugs. · Provide leadership over Filtration and Ignition technologists including Chief Engineers and Fellows. · Ownership over current processes such as technology reviews, design reviews, technology roadmaps, and competitiveness workshops. · Ensure continuous improvement and development of the staff through day-to-day management activities, preparation of Honeywell Performance and Development (HPD) assessments, Management Resource Review (MRR), compensation planning, training, career path development, and staffing. · Lead development of global product engineering strategy and management operating system for global resources. · Own and develop the Filtration and Ignition technology strategy and provide input into STRAP. · Responsible for resource allocation and demand/capacity analyses as driven by the project portfolio and business priorities. · Maintain close linkage to internal customers such as marketing, sales, operations, and supply base such that STRAP initiatives for new product, cost reduction, and manufacturing efforts are met. · Develop AOP for both product engineering teams and own R&D AOP. · Support and drive VPD initiatives to reduce product development cycle time. Basic Qualifications: · Bachelor Degree in Engineering discipline required · 7 years of progressive experience in engineering with supervisory experience. · 3 years experience with budgeting · 7 years experience in automotive or heavy duty engineering field required Additional Qualifications: · Leadership experience in a product development environment strongly preferred. · Proven interpersonal skills, ability to motivate teams to produce on-target and timely results, and strong bias for action/sense of urgency · Experience leading global resources and global strategy development preferred. · Project management experience preferred · Experience in automotive or heavy duty engineering field required · Working knowledge of TS16949 and APQP processes · Excellent oral and written communication skills · Design for Six Sigma certification preferred As an Equal Opportunity Employer, FRAM Group is committed to a diverse workforce.
