Honeywell currently has an internship opportunity for the Engineering department Franklin, PA. No Housing or Transportation assistance will be provided - Local Candidates Only. Candidates must be legally authorized to work, in the U.S., without sponsorship.

Assists all levels of engineers with their tasks and assignments. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within engineering. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision, some creativity is needed. Work is generally considered confidential in nature.

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Performs drawing updates in Solidworks/AutoCAD to internal parts as required to properly maintain engineering records.
  • Follows predetermined SOPs for all drafting activities.
  • Capable of developing basic manufacturing assembly drawings of new or existing products for manufacturing personnel.
  • Capable of setting up pre-established engineering tests as needed for use in supporting new product development and manufacturing activities.
  • Coordinates PCNs and BOM modifications as required.
  • Investigates and suggests product improvements and make recommendations for appropriate action to be taken.
  • Prepares special reports that require gathering and summarizing data. Some reports will require simple mathematical calculations.
  • Organizes information into useable form in order to determine if action needs to take place based on results found.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Other potential duties:


  • Performs tolerance studies of new or existing products.
  • Writes RFQs for vendors under the direction of product engineers.
  • Performs evaluations and make recommendations as required.


Generally requires working in a climate-controlled environment; however a significant amount of time may be spent in the manufacturing and testing areas which are not air-conditioned. Physical requirements include talking, hearing, reaching and the ability to use a computer keyboard and mouse.

Bachelors Degree:


  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum.
  • Completed Sophomore year in college.
  • Able to participate in an internship for June 2012, prior to completing current degree program.

Additional Qualifications:


  • Computer background with preferred proficiency in SolidWorks or other 3D package
  • Oral and written skills necessary for good communication.
  • Good organizational skills required to maintain record keeping and properly management of time.
