Filtration Product Engineer

 

The FRAMGroup manufactures and markets consumer-branded automotive products for the aftermarket consumer, as well as for automotive original equipment manufacturers and installers, with household brand names including Prestone, Fram, Autolite and Holts. A product, brand and service leader in the automotive aftermarket, FRAMGROUP employs over 2,300 people in 14 countries and is a world leader in branded filters, spark plugs and car care products.

Responsibilities:


  • Design and develop automotive and heavy duty/commercial vehicle liquid filter products

  • Utilize Product Data Management system for change approval, document revision, and document release

  • Coordinate project management activities such as planning, testing, and production trials

  • Support internal objectives and initiatives of CPG Business plan for new product, cost reduction, and manufacturing efforts

  • Assist with development of FRAM product strategies

  • Represent CPG and original equipment and aftermarket customers


The role reports to the Liquid Filtration Engineering Supervisor 
Basic Qualifications: 


  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering

  • A minimum of three years experience in design/development environment with project management responsibilities 


Additional Qualifications:


  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred

  • Experience in automotive or commercial vehicle engineering 

  • Experience in design of fuel and oil filtration systems (coolers, heaters, priming systems, housings)

  • Experience in high volume product manufacturing

  • Strong bias for action and excellent problem solving skills

  • Demonstrate project/program management via multiple priorities/projects

  • Ability to create change through new technologies and gain advantages

  • Working knowledge of TS16949 and APQP processes

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to motivate teams to produce products proficiently and timely

  • Proficient using Microsoft Office products (Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project) Working knowledge of statistical analysis methods and design of experiment techniques
