We are a leading global aviation supplier designing, manufacturing, and distributing advanced electronic systems, products, and services to commercial, defense and space industries. The opening is for a broad band machinist for aerospace repair & overhaul product. Potential candidates will have various machining knowledge including (but not limited to): experience with manual and CNC grinders, manual and CNC lathes, and 5 Axis machining centers. The successful candidate will be comfortable holding - 0.0001 and be capable of holding 0.00005 when needed on grind machines. Candidate must be able to hold a surface finish of 8 or better on aerospace alloys and plated or metal sprayed surfaces. Candidate must be able to work with and interpret routings and prints, apply knowledge of shop math (trigonometry and geometry). Ability to utilize and understand basic measuring equipment includes but not limited to micrometers, calipers, dial bores, height stands and indicators. Participate in developing new processes and cycle time reductions. Manual lathe experience a plus. Job requires judgment in wheel selection, dressing in radiuses or chamfers, and changing hubs as required. Candidate must be comfortable in an open setup environment, grinding between centers, or air chucks. Candidate must be able to properly use and handle the following measuring instruments: ID Micrometer, OD Micrometer, Calipers, Bore Micrometer, Height Gage, Radius Gage, Snap Gage, Surface Plate, air gages, plug gages, indicator mics, .0005" indicators, and cell specific dedicated gages. Associate must be team oriented, be willing to work his/her fair share of overtime, and be proficient in basic PC transactions.
