At AT&T, our Chief Technology Office (CTO) is the embodiment of innovation. We're responsible for developing, designing, planning and building AT&T's wireless and wired networks, including the nation's fastest 3G wireless network, our groundbreaking U-verse network and one of the world's largest and most advanced IP backbone networks. Just as importantly, our team conducts industry-leading research and development for network technologies as well as the applications that take advantage of connectivity Responsibilities Provides radio frequency (RF) and/or Radio Access Network (RAN) design. Designs, plans and oversees installation, maintenance and optimization of wireless radio access network communications systems, including radio propagation modeling and prediction using specific planning tool, interference analysis, frequency planning and coordination for GSM, UMTS, LTE using AFP tool, cell site equipment layout and antenna installation configuration for macro sites and DAS type sites (iDAS, oDAS), RAN parameter definition, traffic planning and forecasting, in-building systems design for coverage and capacity at high traffic venues using multiple antenna locations within limited space while managing interference and overlap. Analyzes RAN data to recommend optimal network designs and RAN network changes to improve all the key indexes and performance indicators. Experience BSEE education with minimum 7 years of relevant experience in GSM, UMTS LTE wireless networks planning and design. Knowledge Subject matter expert within own discipline/specialty area and basic knowledge of other disciplines / specialty areas. Deep technical knowledge. Applies in-depth knowledge of discipline/specialty area standards and processes to work. Integrates industry experience and deep professional/ technical knowledge. Technical leader and recognized expert on select AT&T technologies, systems and/or procedures. Analysis and Problem Solving Solves unique problems through evaluative judgment and precedent.
