| Job Description: |
Honeywell Aerospace Advanced Technology has an exciting opportunity for a Ph.D.-level electrical engineer or scientist to work as part of a larger technical team developing innovative optical inertial sensors. The successful candidate must have a demonstrated record of developing innovative electronic circuits, incorporating both analog and digital feedback/control loops for the precision control of active opto-electronic components. Desired skills include a strong understanding of linear control theory and some familiarity with nonlinear control theory. The ability to develop state-of-the art solutions for high-bandwidth/high-gain control loops requiring in-depth knowledge of feedback loop gain and stability analysis, saturation analysis and the demonstrated ability to translate theory into working hardware is required. The desired control loops will be utilized for optimizing high bandwidth free-space and fiber optic based optical sensors systems, hence familiarity with laser based frequency locking solutions is desired. The successful candidate should be able to bring practical solutions for implementing hardware and dealing with EMI, grounding issues and low noise/high voltage control signal generation. He/she will be responsible for system architecture, transfer function measurement/modeling, control loop design and prototype implementations in the lab. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: · Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics or equivalent science/engineering degree. · Due to contract requirements, must be a US Citizen · Must be clearable by DoD standards · Ability to travel approximately 20% time to technical and business meetings. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: · Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.. · A demonstrated track record of creativity and innovation.
