This is a 2nd shift position.

 

The Electrician's job responsibilities include:

 


  • Initiate, support and improve all aspects of Key Metrics: Safety, Quality, Productivity, Delivery and Continuous Improvement.

  • Implement machine continuous improvement with a specialization in electrical control systems.

  • Completion of work assignments related to the improvement, preventative maintenance, layout, installation, repair, adjustment of a wide variety of complex automation and electrical equipment.

  • Installation and modification of mechanical systems and process equipment to obtain specific cycle time, uptime, scrap rate, or sequence of operations desired.

  • Installation of distribution systems, conduit bending threading and reaming, wiring, installation and repair of electrical automation components of all types.

  • Gathering machine technical information utilizing data logging and other measurement instrumentation.

  • Develop, assemble and install machine and building improvements, particularly those requiring electrical specialization.

  • Recognize and avoid errors which would prevent economical repair.

  • Work from prescribed verbal and written schedules, technical specifications, technical drawings, operating procedures and instructions.

  • Respond to dispatch calls quickly and efficiently to reduce downtime, reporting root cause and corrective action to dispatch immediately upon completion of task.

  • Improve processes by driving failures to root cause, implementing solutions which prevent future recurring failures.

  • Champion the improvement of processes through the Kaizen process to improve process capability, preventative maintenance and maintenance processes.

  • Communicate effectively to assure process owners are informed of machine issues and status.

  • Follow all prescribed Health, Safety and Environmental rules and regulations.

  • Perform or assist with other duties as required or assigned.


 

All candidates must be able to lift material up to 60 lbs and walk and stand for extended periods of time.
Basic Qualifications:

 


  • 8 years electrician experience required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent




Additional Qualifications:

 


  • Recognition as a trade journeyman by the International UAW highly preferred.

  • Multi skilled trade experience a plus

  • Must be familiar with the design and correct operation of plant machinery, equipment and facilities.

  • Must have experience in a heavy duty manufacturing facility
