Honeywell Sensing and Control (S&C) is a $600 million strategic business unit of Honeywell International, Inc. S&C is one of the world's leading suppliers of sensors, switches, machine safeguarding and other devices for a variety of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) applications in the aerospace, medical, transportation and industrial markets.


 

S&C is seeking a Electronic Maintenance Technician for our Freeport, IL facilities.

 

Description:


  • Primary responsibilities include maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and electronic circuitry and related components associated with the operation of fabricating, assembly, test, and facility equipment.

  • Knowledge in the electronic diagnostics of PLC's, CNC equipment and various types of computer operated control circuitry.

  • Ability to utilize electrical ladder diagrams, electronic circuitry diagrams, and software programs to modify, repair, or improve equipment functionality.

  • Utilize a variety of tools such as: mechanical hand tools, power tools, electrical/electronic test equipment and calibration equipment.

  • Effectively utilize initiative, self direction, ingenuity, communication skills, and working relationships with others.

  • Individual must be proficient in the repair of a broad variety of equipment; demonstrated by the individual's daily performance to achieve excellence in quality, productivity, and workmanship.


 

Basic Qualifications:


  • 2 year Degree in Electronics or related field.

  • 5 years of electrical, electronic repair experience or training in a manufacturing environment Or Completion of 8,000 hour apprenticeship in repair in lieu of experience.

     


Additional Qualifications:


  • Demonstrate proficiency utilizing a personal computer and related data bases including computerized maintenance management systems.

  • Order parts and materials directly from OEMs and distributors by using appropriate Honeywell purchasing requirements.

  • Determining and executing the most economical and cost effective method to fulfill customer and code requirements.

  • Perform work that is not completely standardized or prescribed including design and redesign of circuitry on new and existing special equipment, lasers, electronic timing circuits, programmable logic controllers, and solid state circuitry.

  • Work closely with engineers, technicians and peers to design, construct, and maintain electronic/electrical systems on new and special equipment.

  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code, and city electrical code.
