Job Description:  Avon, the company for women, is a leading global beauty company, with over $10 billion in annual revenue. As the world's largest direct seller, Avon markets to women in more than 100 countries through over 5.5 million independent Avon Sales Representatives. Avon's product line includes beauty products, fashion jewelry and apparel, and features such well-recognized brand names as Avon Color, Anew, Skin-So-Soft, Advance Techniques, Avon Naturals and Mark.
This is a second shift position on a Sunday to Thursday schedule working approximately from 2 PM - 12 AM.

 


Summary - this role is primarily responsible for the accurate, timely and efficient processing of Representative and customer orders.  The Distribution-Warehouse Supervisor (internally known as Order Fulfillment Supervisor) is largely focused on overseeing the "pick" and "pack" functions within the distribution environment. He/she works to achieve key process and operational cost improvements in accordance with established company policies and procedures all while fostering a "team" environment.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limitied to:


  • Supervision responsibility for up to 50 associates.

  • Continual process improvement achievement.  Focuses on accuracy; expense management and order processing schedule; throughput/flow management and Representative value proposition.

  • Differentiates performance.  Coaches, trains and mentors staff in an effort to continuously improve the effectiveness of the workforce.  Utilizes recognition and performance management to reinforce and affect behavior.

  • Utilizes strong knowledge of Warehouse Control/Order Management system to eliminate non-value-added activities and inefficiencies.

  • Promotes safety.  Protects the health and welfare of company associates.

Minimum requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree; concentration in a technical discipline (Industrial Engineering, Logistics or Operations Management) desired.  Associates are expected to continually expand on their personal operational and supply chain knowledge via internal core skills training, professional affiliations, workshops and industry forums.

  • At least one to three years of related supply chain operations experience or equivalent internship experience.

  • At least one to three years supervisor experience or equivalent internship experience.

  • Thorough understanding of policies and procedures relative to customer service.


Additional skills/qualifications/education desired:


 


*APICS certification recommended.

*Demonstrated leadership of light industrial workforce.

*Experience with process improvement and driving change.

*Advanced computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. Ability to design analytical tools, project plans and process diagrams.

*Exceptional ability to analyze, forecast and makes well-supported recommendations.

*Demonstrated ability to prioritizes customer satisfaction.  Displays a sense of urgency when responding to Representative concerns.

*Promotes teamwork and works effectively within diversified teams.

*Acquires knowledge of functional operations (order flow, 5S, quality, finance).

*Works at a fast pace in a rapidly changing business environment.

*Experience in communicating and addressing issues to senior management.

*Understanding that career development and operational understanding may require Operations Supervisors to move laterally between multiple order fulfillment and distribution supply chain positions.

 

Language Skills:

Communicates effectively both orally and in writing.  Comfortable communicating at various levels throughout the organization.  Strong language skills promoting professional image both internal and external to Avon.
