Avon's product line includes beauty products, fashion jewelry and apparel, and features such well-recognized brand names as Avon Color, Anew, Skin-So-Soft, Advance Techniques, Avon Naturals and Mark.Troubleshoots and analyzes incorrect electrical and electro-mechanical operations of equipment. Repairs/adjusts equipment as needed. Must be able to prioritize trouble calls to minimize impact to business operation. Installs new electrical equipment. Makes electrical connections to all equipment, working closely with other crafts when necessary. Makes changes and relocations of existing electrical lines and associated fittings when required and approved. Reads blueprints and electrical diagrams. Suggests modifications and improvements and implements changes as directed. Must update all prints to reflect changes made. Operates and interprets all types of electric test equipment. Dismantles, repairs, cleans, reassembles electric motors, switch gear and control units. Keeps lighting, alarm and time clock systems operating satisfactorily. Selects proper material (keeping national and local electrical codes in mind) for all situations; if in doubt requests supervisory assistance. Draws from maintenance stores all parts necessary to carry out job assignments; gives storekeeper accurate description, count, job number for such parts and material; returns unused, repaired parts and tools to store. Keeps accurate records of time/material chargeable to each job. Follows safety policies, maintains good housekeeping in work area. Work must meet all applicable federal, state and local mandates as well as comploy with all Company rules and policies. Performs other duties as asssigned. High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience. Must have completed an apprenticeship and be a licensed journeyman or show equivalent training from accredited institution. Must have 5 years experience as a qualified industrial electrician excluding apprentice training and have complete knowledge of electricity and electrical codes. Must know and understand controls and control circuitry. Should have some knowledge of electronics. Must know various types of electrical motors and methods of assembly and adjustment of same. Must gain a complete knowledge of sequences of operation and relationship of electrical components to facility equipment. Strong verbal communication skills. Able to handle pressure and demonstrate flexibility, good interpersonal skills, and take initiative on specific issues. Able to prioritize handling of situations. Must have a positive attitude. Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out more complex instructions in written, oral or diagram form, and deal with more complex problems involving some abstract thinking though may require supervision. Requires little direction when solving simple problems.Must be able to make simple calculations using Ohms law, calculate load and wiring size according to NEC, read and understand complex procedures, assemble equipment, perform analyses, calculate results. Must be able to lift and control awkward weights: up to 50# frequently, 50-75# occasionally, up to 100 seldom and reach/climb/stretch in awkward positions.Must achieve a minimum score of 2 in Math and 2 in Verbal on assessment tests. Must be able to work OT and flex hours as needed.
