POSITION SUMMARY: · Plan and implement, in cooperation with the Vice President, Sales and Marketing, personal development programs that will prepare qualified employees for advancement. · Responsible for representation of Cooper Power Systems within assigned region maintaining contacts with established customers and distributors for the purpose of selling a wide range of electrical equipment from highly complex, technical protection and control equipment to standard installation equipment. Represents Company’s complete line of electrical distribution and transmission products. · Assume responsibility in the following areas: Efficient regional administration with systems, procedures, and control techniques designed to achieve minimum practical staff size, provide a strong sense of cost consciousness, consistent compliance in the application of policies, maintain an informed position on all factors affecting the operation of the region. · Customer contacts are with the utilities' engineering, purchasing, operations, and supply chain planning departments. Planning contacts involve the determination of future activities involving Cooper Power Systems' equipment. · Responsible for maintaining executive contacts at utilities and with distributor principals. · Ability to work with all levels of utility and distributor personnel to sell and support products as well as to understand the customer’s business needs. · Develops and execute sales plans to meet orders, share, revenue, margin, and expense budget objectives · Participate and lead in complex technical and commercial negotiations · Identify new business opportunities within sales region and directs and develops sales plans, forecasts, and updates to take advantage of opportunities. · Ability to interact and communicate effectively within all levels of the organization, including sales, marketing, engineering, and operations · Must be able to solve complex business problems utilizing regional sales staff, product marketing and engineering or any of the computer resources. Job Requirements : MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: · BSEE or BSME with five or more years experience in sale/marketing or equivalent based on the individual's ability, technical knowledge, attitude, ability to assume responsibility, utility industry experience and level of achievement. · Prefer significant sales experience to perform major account responsibilities (Distributor or IOU). · Solid communication skills, analytical capabilities, and technically proficient. · Proficiency with personal computer necessary · Ability to travel between 25-40% of time. · Must demonstrate leadership, training, planning, organizational, and managerial abilities
