Responsible for requirements gathering, design, technical leadership, and participation in the implementation/validation of automation equipment, process control systems, utilities, and laboratory equipment for the regulated process industries. Participates in the establishment, measurement, and achievement of customer satisfaction metrics. Plans and coordinates technical design and engineering implementation of project validation/automation work. Customer contact for commercial and technical issues and activities. Resolution of commercial and technical issues. Frequently serves as the primary customer interface on designated projects. Project resource needs identification: Project costs, manpower, hardware and software. Project scheduling and project tracking. Management and reporting of project revenue cost and gross margin. Occasionally performs project management function for customer projects, including commercial responsibility as well as technical. Responsible for providing leadership of project engineering teams, contract employees, and project support personnel. Develops protocols with test scripts as required for installation, operational, and performance qualification activities in support of client validation effort. Develops and writes documentation as required by client’s validation/automation program: validation project plans, standard operating procedures, qualification summary reports, system audits, technical reports, traceability matrix, etc. Executes and documents qualification testing for client validation and software application effort. Works with project team to efficiently deliver validation services as an integral part of client projects. Conducts statistical analysis of testing results and process anomalies and documents as required. Provides updates to project manager/leader or project/senior engineer pertaining to status of activities, performance to schedule and performance to budget for own activities. May participate in proposal development activities. Frequently interacts with customer personnel. Supports an environment conducive to successful team interaction. Interacts with project management, hardware design, purchasing, and assembly personnel in support of project efforts. Obtains product technical information from other business units of RA as required. Supports an environment conducive to customer satisfaction. Builds relationships at the technical level of Rockwell customers. Responsible for meeting schedule, engineering hours and customer satisfaction targets. Responsible for following all applicable corporate, company, governmental and regulatory policies and procedures as appropriate for this position. Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Minimum Qualifications Requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience. A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves wide range of issues in creative ways and effective ways. Proficient in PLC and HMI programming utilizing RSLogix 5, 500, 5000 and RSView32 and/or RSView ME/SE. Capable of reading and creating electrical schematics and troubleshooting hardware and software related issues. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines the process by which to meet goals. Frequently interacts with peers and customers to gain cooperation of others or conduct presentations of technical information/project activities. Networks with senior internal/external personnel in own area of expertise. Bachelors Degree in Engineering |
