This role is part of Rio Tinto Human Resources Global Practice that covers four main practice streams; Talent Sourcing, Talent Management, Employee Engagement and Diversity. Within each stream, the practice focuses on the design and development of strategies, standards, systems and processes that have global application for Rio Tinto.


Reporting to the Group Advisor Graduate Talent, this role will contribute to the design and implementation of Rio Tinto's integrated graduate talent strategy and operating model. A key contribution of this role will include the implementation and management of the Group graduate management model and its supporting programs including graduate recruitment and development programs for Rio Tinto's established and emerging regions.


Other accountabilities of the role include:


  • Conducting benchmarking, research and analysis for use in the development and implementation of leading practice and processes for sourcing and attracting high quality graduates to Rio Tinto

  • Conducting analysis of current processes with a view to optimising current graduate recruitment processes

  • Supporting the development and implementation of Group graduate and university branding aligned with Group branding and EVP

  • Developing and implementing graduate rotation processes

  • Contributing to the ongoing development of the e-recruitment system to meet needs as they relate to graduate and intern recruitment


The successful candidate will possess several years work experience within a HR related discipline, preferably with exposure to multiple countries and/or cultures which will be supported by a tertiary qualification. You will be a self-starter with strong communication skills and a track record in project planning and management with experience articulating HR value within a business context. The ability to influence, negotiate and operate at multiple levels and in a virtual and geographically dispersed environment is essential.
