Job Description:  POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the direction of a business unit across 3 shifts. This includes managing the salaried supervisors and hourly workforce to produce quality product at high productivity and within cost standards while maintaining positive employee relations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Is responsible for managing safety, productivity, cost, delivery, quality and morale KPIs of the business unit.

2. Responsible for developing salaried direct reports to achieve safety, productivity, cost, delivery, quality and morale KPIs.

3. Responsible for reporting business unit KPIs at Weekly Operational Review, leading the Daily Operational Review and ensuring the Shift Handovers are effective.

4. Help to establish departmental operating budgets and adhering to the same.

5. Is responsible to be the communication link between all departments and shifts to ensure company goals and objectives are met.

6. Work with Human Resources to maintain positive employee relations.

7. Ensure that continuous improvement atmosphere is maintained through recommendations and efficient follow up on DMAIC projects and improvement teams.

8. Complete all other projects as assigned by the Production Superintendent.

Assures that Safety activities are communicated & accomplished as outlined in the plant¡¿s safety program and OHSAS 18001 Management System.
'X Assures that activities performed having an environmental impact are communicated and accomplished as outlined in the ISO-14001 Management System.
'X Assures and properly investigates all injuries, incidents and accidents as they relate to safety.
'X Review all accident and incident investigations with the objective of taking action to eliminate future occurrences.
'X Consult with the plant Safety/Environmental Management Representative as necessary to fulfill program requirements.
'X Completes required housekeeping audits and BBS Observations.

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:
BA or BS degree in Food Technology, Engineering, Operations, Business, or Sciences.

EXPERIENCE:
5 or more years in food manufacturing with production floor experience.

SKILLS
Excellent communication skills. High energy level and excellent follow up skills. Creative problem solving, attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities. Excellent people skills, maintain a positive attitude and the ability to motivate people is needed. Bilingual in Spanish and TPM experience preferred.
