Job Description Technical Services Manager - Large Motors - Norwood, OH Job Family Responsibilities: Develops and implements service programs to support customers in the proper operation, maintenance and repair of ANEMA and large IEC motors. Guides the preparation and maintenance of quality and safety certifications. Guides very complex conflict resolution for motor field failures / repairs in a very dynamic fast paced environment. Performs in the negotiations of maintenance and service agreements and guide their execution. Develops recommendations for modifications or improvements to assure optimum efficiency of products/equipment. Key Responsibilities: Successfully defines and manages work flows, jobs, organizational structure and reporting relationships to obtain optimum effectiveness. Area of responsibility has moderate strategic impact. Develops and manages departmental budgets and/or business plans for Large Drives, US Motor Service. Has substantial latitude to develop policies/programs for area of responsibility or products and to forecast their impact; Analyzes effectiveness of policies/products and establishes future direction for functional policies and programs or products that affect company as a whole; Aligns policies/products and development efforts with company strategies. Troubleshoots and resolves complex motor problems working with multi-departments and/or cross-functional areas. Education: BS/BA in related discipline preferably engineering related degree. Knowledge and Experience: 10+ years of experience ANEMA motors industry in a technical service management role. Demonstrated advanced knowledge in ANEMA AC induction motors required. Experience / knowledge in large synchronous motors desired. Experience with motor field failure analysis, related project management skills and ability to work with OEM / Customer / Supplier groups required. Motor test field and vibration analysis experience desired. Demonstrates understanding and application of management approaches for work direction, motivation, performance management, and disciplinary action. Demonstrated leadership abilities (including 5 years of management experience) and strong coaching and mentoring skills required. |
