Job Description:  DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS:

Position Overview:

The Design Manager is responsible for leading brand design in North America and its role in creating integrated marketing content and visual identity systems for our core sparkling beverage brands. The Design Manager will be responsible for leading both the visualization of graphic design content and brand design project management for our Coca-Cola trademark brands. He/she will lead the concept creation and development of graphic design brand assets for packaging and support retail point of sale design.

This role requires the ability to think, create and execute brand design strategy in a multidimensional and multiplatform fashion.  The primary focus of this design leadership role is 2D graphic design; however, knowledge and ability to integrate graphic elements into digital and 3D forms such as packaging, point of sale and merchandising equipment is paramount.  Proven ability to collaborate within teams composed of multi-disciplinary backgrounds ranging from brand marketing, design, engineering, procurement and consumer research is critical. This role also requires the ability to manage design projects and design content creation through both external agencies and through hands-on rendering tools such as Rhino, Illustrator and Photoshop.

Function Specific Activities:

    Develop and communicate written briefs for use by agencies or
    suppliers (e.g., creative, advertising, packaging, product development,
    media, consumer promotions, merchandising, licensed or specialty
    merchandise, etc.) to direct their work activities in order to generate
    concepts for effective execution of marketing programs and objectives
    (e.g., drive trail, increase loyalty).

    Develop strategies, goals, or plans for work that indirectly impact or
    contribute to revenue generation for the Company.

    Write creative briefs that clearly articulate communication objectives
    and success criteria in order to inform and direct agency work and
    creative development.

    Develop and communicate a clear charter for a project or initiative with
    clarity of scope and expected outcomes.

    Lead the development, approval, communication and stewardship of core
    brand policies in order to ensure integrity at the local level.

Education:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
Related Work Experience:At least 7 years

Technical Skills:

    Brand Positioning: Knowledge of specific brand positioning and brand
    architecture of The Company's brands.


    Creative Brief Development: Knowledge of the creative brief
    development process.


    Agency Management: Knowledge of methods or techniques used and ability
    to inspire agency performance.


    Creative Concept Evaluation: Ability to evaluate creative concepts and
    executions based on creativity, strategic alignment and consumer
    impact.
    Creative Concept Generation: Knowledge of methods of
    brainstorming/creative concept generation. Includes knowledge of
    facilitation procedures for creative sessions.
