Job Description:   

ITW Deltar Seating Components located in Elmhurst, IL  is a manufacturer of technical seating components for the automotive industry.  Qualified automation maintenance individual will work with management team in a hands-on role defining robotic and automation needs for the business and developing and implementing equipment.  Position responsibilities would include ensuring the efficient operation of robotics through hands-on technical knowledge of robotics and programing; full support of automatic assembly equipment, working knowledge of electrical systems (relay and solid state); maintenance and installation of machines; support and continuous implementation/improvement of safety standards; and facility related repairs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize work orders; schedule and complete repairs; maintenance and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations and efficiencies.
  • Complete both predictive and preventative maintenance and repairs for conformance to operational standards
  • Provide input on new product plans, equipment needs, and modifications with design engineers and outside vendors for the machining and fabrication of tooling and systems
  • Direct involvement in building robotics and automation systems including installation and programming
  • Coordinates requirements for all auxilliary equipment
  • Review machine requirements with manufacturing personnel; write operator instructions and provide training classes for transferrable knowledge to employees on robotics and automation systems
  • Emphasize and enhance opportunities for continuous improvement in safety and manufacturing capabilities/efficiencies
  • Maintains documented records and reports

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years hands on experience/knowledge of mechanical systems in automation; machine maintenance; installation, and repair including auxillary support equipment and building maintenance
  • Knowledge of robotics, hydraulics, and electrical systems; ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Must possess good communication/interpretation skills, good visual skills for accessing functionality of equipment, above basic mathematical skills and reasoning ability
  • Independent and organized work style; effectively manage time and prioritize work load, adapt to change, and consistently meet deadlines.
