Job Description:  The ideal candidate will bring knowledge of process automation technology and batch process manufacturing in all project phases, including field instrumentation, documentation requirements, detail design generation, implementation techniques, systems integration methods, testing and on-site startup.

The Sr Engineer will be part of the Systems and Solutions business, focused on providing automation and process solutions for their assigned industry. The Sr Engineer is responsible for system design, implementation, test and customer-site startup. Minimum Qualifications BS in Engineering discipline or equivalent knowledge.

5 years of experience in systems engineering with significant experience in the Specialty Chemical or Water/Wastewater Treatment applications, or Pulp and Paper.

Experience conducting and leading system field startup activities.

Possesses application/technical knowledge relevant to the assigned industries.

Strong technical knowledge of process controls engineering and controls systems.

Strong knowledge of control schematic design and control configuration.

Strong knowledge of advanced process control (APC) techniques.

Strong knowledge of safety instrumented systems (SIS)

Ability to read, mark-up, and update I/E documents (schematics, loop drawings, one-line drawings, P&ID's , etc.) per BASF standards.

Knowledge of alarm management concepts, loop tuning, and Intools.

Knowledge of ACAD drawings is a plus.

Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose control system and instrumentation failures and utilize root cause analysis for corrective actions.

Knowledge and experience of Process Information Management Systems

Must be able to work in a stressful environment where constructive feedback from others is encouraged.

Must have excellent conflict resolution skills.

Must be available and willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays to meet customer project commitments.

Must perform duties in the office as part of a project team.

Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial plants, ships, etc., which may require climbing, working in confined spaces and other unusual work environments. Desired Qualifications Experience converting DCS systems to Rockwell Automation platforms Highly Desirable
