Kellogg's has an exciting opportunity for a Plant Health and Safety Manager at its Charlotte, North Carolina bakery facility. The responsibilities are, but are not limited to the following: Develop and deliver timely and effective loss prevention initiatives, policies and educational training programs which proactively address current safety and/or security issues and ensure compliance to all regulatory and company Health and Safety policies and procedures. Prepare, maintain, and as appropriate, submit all records and reports required by the Company and OSHA regulatory agencies including the OSHA 300 log and injury records. Perform trend analysis on information. Works with Engineering to provide input during the planning and execution of engineering and new technology applications to ensure that related safeguards are incorporated which meet all applicable regulatory requirements. Management of Workers' Compensation claims. Responsible for leadership and management of Joint Health and Safety Committees, Return to Work Committee and all other committees and/or process involved in health and safety. Promote hazard identification and make recommendations for corrective actions. Will study and make recommendations based on assessments done by occupational hygienist. Responsible for chemical management regarding approval/disapproval of all chemicals entering facility. Develop, train, and maintain an effective Emergency Response Team to ensure appropriate response in the event of an emergency incident. Prepare and administer the safety budget. Plan, monitor and control expenditures with emphasis on effective delivery at or below budgeted amounts. Track all personal protective equipment purchases and authorize payment to suppliers. May administer worker's compensation claims management programs / third party vendors and authorize payment to safety and Workers' Compensation consultants. Responsible for compliance with all regulations. Food Safety - plant in proper sanitary condition at all times, including allergen control, pest control, guidelines followed. Compliance with food safety policies and procedures. Will support the execution of relevant projects within assigned area / shift. Possesses a working knowledge of monitoring equipment used in environmental assessments and environmental programs Ensure Diversity and Inclusion meets / exceeded corporate standards. Proactively engage in the development and training of hourly labor and support such plans developed by plant leadership. Maintain understanding of processes and functional interdependencies. Recognize and escalate, as needed, those issues identified as risks to, or opportunities to improve, plant performance. Adhere to and administer company policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. Kellogg EOE M/F/D/V Position Requirements Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in technical field plus 5 years' experience with safety in a manufacturing setting OR High School diploma/GED plus 10 years safety experience in a manufacturing setting. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in technical or related field with 5-7 years safety experience in a manufacturing setting Effective communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills Demonstrated organizational, research and analytical skills Ability to effectively manage time/workload to maintain deadlines for Corporate and regulatory reporting Holds or is working towards appropriate Safety Professional designation preferred SAP Experience OSHA Proficiency Workers Comp knowledge base License Requirements |
