Job Description

Morgan Construction, a Siemens VAI company, has an opportunity for an experince Electrical Engineer to join our team in Worcester, MA.

All candidates MUST have the following:
1. Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering.
2. Ability to read schematics and blue prints.
3. Experience with motors and drives - AC/DC drives.

The main responsibilites of this role are:
1.  To carry out electrical design reviews and participate in engineering design and safety reviews with the contract design teams for all contracts assigned.
2.  To ensure all the necessary process information and the contract specification is available and utilized for a contract in accordance with the department’s requirements.
3.  To produce electrical specifications in accordance with the department’s requirements.
4.  To liaise with Siemens Regional Companies and coach them in the LR electrical systems and process so each project meets customer requirements.
5.  To ensure that all electrical designs, specifications, drawings and calculations meet the requirements of the standards for the specific proposal or contract.
6.  To verify that electrical equipment schedules and control specifications meet the requirements of the project.
7.  In conjunction with all other disciplines, ensure all necessary safeguards are completed, in order to prove that equipment is safe and reliable in operation.
8.  To ensure that adequate Operation and Maintenance Manuals are verified for areas that are subject to electrical control.
9.  To identify areas where product development will enhance our product performance.
10.  To assist with installation planning and commissioning activities as required to ensure a successful completion of contracts.
11.  To encourage the use of standard/repeat electrical engineering using generic or complete electric equipment lists and control specification sheets.  To help create a library of Standard equipment.
12.  To formally report any perceived enhancements which can be incorporated into the “As sold spec” for the purpose of limiting/restricting contract stage conflicts.
13.  Be prepared to travel nationally and internationally on Company business.
14.  Be prepared to carry out engineering coordination and commissioning duties on Company sites nationally and internationally.
