Job Description Specific Requirements A Software Test Engineer 2 will be required to design, develop, test and support a suite of test procedures for the Soarian Financials Software product line. They will also be required to participate in the Scrum methodology for software development performing continuous integration testing as well as regression integration testing and system testing (workflows) during the stabilization period. The successful candidate will also be required to utilize the latest testing tools and techniques to produce high quality deliverables to stakeholders. Profile: • Working knowledge in software testing methodologies and processes. • Software testing experience in regression, integration, system test. • Experience with various industry software testing tools. • Knowledge of healthcare standards and practices. • Knowledge of IT system in the healthcare industry. • Knowledge of software development life cycle working with software developers and product analyst. • Communicate on various levels with peers, management and stake holders. Responsibilities: • Research new function and/or process enhancements for new testing requirements • Prepare detailed testing and other documentation, as required • Verify and editing test data in new or existing systems • Test and verify system and database models to ensure quality and integrity • Participate in continuous process refinement and improvement • Implement software testing processes and best practices. • Maintain domain and technology expertise by keeping current with evolving testing methodologies and healthcare standards. Required Capabilities: • Strong organizational skills (multi-tasking and prioritization tasks). • Strong quantitative and analytical skills. • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) • Ability to communicate at various domain and technical levels • Must exhibit a sense of responsibility with a focus on quality deliverables. Technologies: • Healthcare domain experience (Business Office) • Testing/Quality background is preferred. • A solid understanding of the overall SDLC processes and methodologies is required. • Knowledge in the following software packages is a plus: Caliber RM, Rational ClearCase, Rational Clear Quest (CharmNT), Quality Center, Visio. • An understanding of systems concepts, techniques, tools, and standards as well as a working knowledge of PC third-party products (MS Office, SQL, etc.) is required. • Understands enterprise-level architecture principles. SQL Experience: • Ability to write SQL queries against a Microsoft SQL database. • Ability to analyze a database and understand the relationships between tables. • Ability to perform a trace against the database. |
