Job Description Morgan Construction Company, a Siemens VAI company, has an exciting opportunity for a Proposal/Design Engineer to join our team in Worcester, MA. Description of duties: Creation of technical and commercial proposals in support of the Metallurgical Services Rolling (MS R) Guides sales in Worcester, and in support of global MS R subsidiaries sales efforts. This primarily includes: • Creation of design/proposal drawings for new and existing equipment. • Selection of guides and other equipment based on customer specifications. • Interface with manufacturing/purchasing to develop cost information. • Creation of MS Excel and MS Word documents. And may also include: • Technical support of spare sales administrators and purchasing. • Some sales and field support for the guides business, including training and support of customers in the proper operations and maintenance of guides and other operational areas. (Approximately 15% travel) • Interact with customers, develop relationships and network in order to increase MS R business market share. • Participate in new product development, and other design and detail engineering as required. • Participate in the execution of the global MS R Guides business strategy. • Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Manager. Requirements: Years of experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of Design/Engineering. Educational Background: Associate’s degree required - B.S in Engineering preferred. Special Requirements: Proficiency with the following software: • Solidworks • AUTOCAD • MS Word • MS Excel • SAP Strong interpersonal skills to effectively deal with external and internal customers. Individual must be flexible and be able to perform a broad variety of tasks related to proposals, engineering, and sales.
