Cooper Notification is one growth platform within the Cooper Safety Division that manufactures and installs products and solutions within the fire and mass notification industries. Cooper Notification is now looking for a District Sales Manager to join the team. District Sales Manager Responsibilities The District Sales Manager will plan, organize and implement sales programs for a designated district that will deliver targeted sales objectives. The DSM will have territory responsibility for selling our quality products to project consultants, contractors, architects and engineers, security dealers, code enforcement officials, end-users and distributors in the Mid-Atlantic Region. The DSM acts as a representative of Cooper Wheelock within the assigned district maintaining contacts with established customers and developing new prospects. The successful candidate will be required to maintain an awareness of business conditions in the assigned territory, solicit and report on voice of the customer data on both current and new products. He or she will prepare and conduct sales/training meetings to current and prospective customers to increase sales of products. The DSM will have regular interactions with the Regional Sales Manager as well as all levels of staff in the Sales and Marketing departments. He/she will also interact daily with Customer Service, Credit & Collection , Technical Support and Engineering departments. This position requires at minimum 80% travel within the district and for corporate events. Qualifications * Minimum 3 years experience in technical sales and administrative functions. * NICET (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies) Level II (Fire Protection Engineering) is strongly preferred. * Knowledge of the fire, life safety or security field is strongly preferred. * Demonstrated strong oral/written communication skills including sales presentations and negotiations. * A four-year college degree in business, marketing or engineering or related field is strongly preferred.* Utilize effective leadership and organizational skills to maximize performance.
