Senior Planner / Buyer Lexington , South Carolina Cooper Tools is now Apex Tool Group, LLC, (ATG) a joint venture between Cooper Industries Tool Group and Danaher Tool Group, headquartered in Sparks, MD. ATG Lexington, SC facility, manufacturer of industrial power tools for aerospace, MVI and general industry is accepting applications for the positon of Senior Planner / Buyer. Opportunity Summary: Responsible for the planning production of product lines, and procurement of a variety of materials to support manufacturing in attaining shipping goals. All purchases must be made with the optimum balance of price, quality, and delivery. Individual in this position is responsible for negotiating price reductions. This position is also responsible for achieving maximum inventory turns on assigned product lines and on products purchased while minimizing shortages. Key goals will include helping drive a 25% increase in the number of inventory turns, helping implement visual and electronic kanbans as well as vendor managed inventory program, reduce inventory, enhance the effective management of a complex supply chain for a custom order manufacturing organization, and reduce product cost. Position Responsibilities:
Excellent Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint skills required. Must be a self-starter with the ability to self-initiate activities to meet agreed upon objectives, which support the strategic plan and operating budget. Must have well developed problem solving skills to resolve problems of a technical nature dealing with material specifications, Material Resource Planning (MRP), inventory control and the efficient flow of material through the manufacturing process Must have a background that includes origination and the leading of aggressive cost containment and reduction programs and successfully deal with problems resulting from implementation APICS certification and SAP experience preferred.
