Job Description Morgan Construction, a Siemens VAI company, has an opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Designer to join our team in Worcester, MA. Specific Requirements of the role: Mechanical designer/engineer to research, develop, and design complex mechanical equipment. Lay out complete mechanical products, prepare assembly and detail drawings, prepare bills of material and specifications. Perform engineering studies such as calculations of forces and fit and tolerances. Select raw material and commericial components. Must be able to multitask and maintain multiple projects. Will assist and interface with manufacturing to improve designs and resolve quality issues for in-house and vendor supplied components. Special Requirements: * Ability to design using metric units, fasteners, and materials. * Proficient in the use of geometric tolerancing. * Proficient in AutoCAD, Solidworks a plus. * Works with little supervision, self motivated, accurate, and maintain tight schedules. * Must communicate well with others. * Have an Associates degree or 1-2 years of vocational technical training preferred. HS diploma or equivalent required. * Generally, 8+ years of successful experience in area of responsibility. |
