Job Description Project Engineer - Municipal Water Membrane Filtration Siemens Water Technologies currently seeks a Project Engineer to support the execution of projects using Membrane technology systems. This position will be located in Shrewsbury, MA. and will have the following responsibilities: Provide project engineering support for custom water treatment equipment / system design and build. Provide sizing and selection for key system components, based upon sales, applications engineering and design requirements. Provide engineering support for water treatment equipment / system; specific to design, factory manufacturing and quality / performance testing. Work within a team environment to improve quality and productivity of the Siemens Water Technologies custom engineering processes and product. Associated Duties & Responsibilities: Perform Engineering Design calculations (hydraulics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, stress analysis, etc) for water treatment equipment and systems. Maintain project schedule while interacting with sales, project management, design, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams. Engineer custom water systems based upon customer specifications, Siemens Water Technologies proposals and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) Monitor and maintain a project budget including labor and materials Work closely with other internal departments and other Siemens Water Technologies’ divisions to ensure successful quality of products. Create bills of materials and check / create of 2D drawings to support required project scope and purchasing / manufacturing demand. Qualified Candidate would have a BS in chemical engineering (or other related engineering degree). 5 plus years previous design experience with membrane water filtration equipment highly desired Experience with Lean principles preferred Individual must possess: * Demonstrated skills with CAD and MicroSoft suites. * Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP * Strong oral and written communication skills. * Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals including other engineering disciplines. |
