Job Description:   Position: Corporate Senior Logistics Analyst

Currently, we have an opening in our company headquarters in Glenview, Illinois for a Corporate Senior Logistics Analyst. This is a newly created position which reports to the Corporate Strategic Logistics Manager.

This individual must have a proven track record in assisting with all data and administrative functions in support of negotiating high level contracts with LTL, TL, Small Parcel, Freight Forwarding and brokerage providers. In this role, you will assist the management team in developing and implementing Logistics strategies and solutions that leverage the Company's volumes and partnerships while providing consistently high levels of service in a cost-effective manner. You will be responsible for establishing metrics and analytics which demonstrate value and cost benefits across the Company's various business units, in a manner that considers cost and quality.

This position will support the management of ITW's Strategic Logistics programs as well as other commodities as assigned. Focus on data analytics and day to day interaction with select carriers and strategic partners. The role includes: analysis, creation, and implementation of business process and procedures, as well as managing and monitoring service providers and their metrics.

The candidate selected for this position will perform the following responsibilities:
- Identifying and prioritizing logistics needs/requirements and communicates recommendations to upper management in order to achieve buy-in and commitment.
- Supply Chain process analysis, development and management which includes having an in depth knowledge of Sourcing programs and being able to translate these into supply chain processes while working toward expanding the company's logistics consolidation and cost reduction goals.
- Creation of RFP Packages utilizing large data sets and analyzing RFP Responses
- Creation of large Databases utilizing Microsoft Access
- Provides analysis of existing rates levels to ensure most cost-effective options are being utilized.
- Utilize quantitative skills to analyze, validate, manipulate, and manage large amounts of data, specific to problem solving, project and decision support, and trend analysis of multi-projects assigned by management.
- Ensures contracts with Logistics service providers are accurate and current to support ITW's business needs.
- Measuring and reporting on provider metrics based on agreed upon agreements and statements of work. Continuous diagnostics of process to seek improvement
- Must be able to understand financial impacts on all of service provider's business units when negotiating.
- The candidate should have a solid understanding of rates and service in the logistics arena (import/export, parcel and LTL/TL).
- Manage data and information flow between service providers and ITW.
- Ability to analyze origin statistics and discrepancies to evaluate the situation and make recommendations.


Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years practical experience in the logistics or international distribution field with an operational focus.
- Bachelors degree required, focus in Logistics or Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering.
- Knowledge of international logistics terms, programs, business relationships and practices.
- Strong knowledge of general business practices.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access)
- Self-starter capable of working independently
- Ability to multi-task. Team player.
- Participate and lead special projects.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Ability to sell ideas and concepts. Experience with relational databases. Deliverables based focus within allowed time frame. Sense of urgency
