As a member of Instron's Supply Management team you'll have an opportunity to get involved with all aspects of the Supply Chain, including supplier review and selection, RFQ preparation, price negotiations and supplier management.  We manage the supply chain via kanban so you will also be involved with managing the assigned commodities to ensure the business goals are met or exceeded.

Successful candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree and at least 5 years of hands-on purchasing experience.  Other requirements include:

• Strong negotiating skills with an emphasis on achieving "win-win" agreements with suppliers that yield long-term, high-quality supply agreements with competitive total supply chain costs.
• Thorough understanding of supply chain costs and processes as relates to the manufacture of complex capital equipment.
• Thorough knowledge of manufacturing practices and the ability to interpret blueprints.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to interact successfully with all levels of the company.
• Comfort in a team environment, strong communication skills and a "Can do" attitude.
• Experience working in a kanban environment is very helpful.
